2018   Building Committee actively searching for land.  Deacon Eugene Margeson, JCL retires as our permanent Deacon July 31st . Deacon Gerard Vardy is appointed by Archbishop Prendergast S.J. to start in September.  The Parish CWL hosted their 2nd Retreat day for women, theme “Homelessness” at St. Monica Church.  Fr. Gerard Plant was the speaker.

2017    Building Committee actively searching for land.  A fence is installed around the property of the parish rectory.  End of year BBQ celebrated in May.

2016    Building Committee actively searching for land.   The Parish CWL hosted their 1st Retreat day for women, at St. Monica Church.  Fr. Frank Brewer was the speaker. 

2015    Building Committee actively searching for land.   Deacon Gerard Plant was appointed to St. Andrew Parish by Archbishop Prendergast, S.J.  in preparation for his Priestly Ordination.   Deacon Gerard Plant was ordained to the Holy Priesthood by the Most Reverend Terrence Prendergast, S.J.  on June 19.

2014   On January  25th Deacon Matthew Keshwah was Ordained to the  Holy Priesthood.  Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul, by the Most Reverend Terrence Prendergast, S.J. Archbishop of Ottawa at Notre-Dame Cathedral.

2013
May 18 & 19, 2013: Archbishop Prendergast S.J. issued a letter for both St. Andrew and St. Monica Parishes, indicating the appointments of Reverend Frank Brewer as new pastor of both parishes effective August 1, 2013. Reverend Jessimar Cavan Tapia will be the new vice rector at St. Patrick Basilica effective August 1, 2013.  Deacon Matthew Keshwah was appointed to St. Andrew Parish, preparing for his priestly Ordination.  In October 2013, the parish office was relocated from Saint Mother Teresa HS to Saint Monica Church on Merivale Rd.  It enabled both parish admin teams to work under Fr. Frank in one location.

January 2010: Our Parish new CWL – Catholic Women’s League was formed.

December 2009: Father Jessi started the Parish Monthly Socials & Refreshments after each weekend Mass at the parish — every first weekend of each month (if the first weekend is a holiday long weekend, it is done on the 2nd weekend of the month).

November 2009: Started with a new weekend schedule for all Masses at only one location at St. Joseph’s Catholic High School — 3333 Greenbank Road. The community that worshipped at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School (SEAS) location every Sunday joined at St. Joseph High School (SJHS) location.

August 1, 2009: Reverend Jessimar Cavan Tapia was appointed the new pastor of St. Andrew Parish.

December: Fr. John Whyte returns from his three month sabbatical in Rome.

September: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton school added as our fourth parish elementary school.

September: Clare Reeler added to our staff as Weekend Mass Coordinator.

August: The new rectory is completed on Taradale Drive in Barrhaven in the subdivision known as Chapman Mills.

June: New boundaries are established for St. Andrew Parish giving the parish a larger catchment area. The boundaries are extended to Hunt Club Road in the North, Woodroffe Ave in the East, Barnsdale Road in the South, and the 416 Hwy in the West. The number of parish schools is increased to seven.

April: Confirmations and First Communions celebrated with our two parish elementary schools — Msgr Paul Baxter, St. Luke. The total number of children is 140.

January: St. Emily elementary opens in Chapman Mills.

December: Fr. William Penney appointed to be Pastor of the new community known as “Barrhaven East Catholic Community.” Masses are celebrated at Msgr Paul Baxter School in Barrhaven.
